A Surprising God- Pt 7- Mission Sunday

A Surprising God- Pt 7- Mission Sunday

We (Michael and Kim Findlay) have always had a passion for social justice. We both independently felt called to live and work in Africa. But what God asked of us in our 20s – to set up a hospital in a remote village in Uganda – felt impossibly hard at times. We had to learn over and over again hard lessons about trust, obedience, and what God actually was asking of us. Sometimes it was very different to what we had in mind!

Bible Readings: Micah 6:8 (NLT)

Community Family Support News

Chapel Service

Just a reminder that school begins on Monday morning (24th July at 8:50am) with Worship… You are most welcome to join us as we come together once again as a Good Shepherd family!

Step Up to Communion

Young people aged around 10 years, together with their parents/ caregivers, are invited to take part in our Step-Up program to prepare for Holy Communion. Taking the approach that parents/ carers are the primary faith developers in their children, Step Up is designed to support parents/carers in preparing their child for Holy Communion.

This course will be offered soon over 4 consecutive Friday nights (11th, 18th, 25th August, and 1st September). The actual ‘Step Up Service’ will take place on 10th September at the 10:30am worship service.  If you are interested, please contact Georgie here by Friday 4th August. Look forward to hearing from you.

Growing Faith at Home

The word ‘hope’ gets used quite a lot… But it can mean different things to different people. This week’s GFH resource, entitled ‘Hope for the Future’, presents an opportunity to talk about this as a family or a small group… What does it mean to hope? How is hope different from wishful thinking? Our hope in Jesus isn’t just wishful thinking, it is a certainty! A firm foundation to stand on, especially when life throws up its challenges! Why not check out the resource? Have a wonderful week!

Georgie

Level 2 Training
