God Is Appealing Through You

God Is Appealing Through You

‘What if people were more willing to hear about Jesus than we are to speak of Him? And do we underestimate the witness of our lives to those people we have relationships with?

This week we hear 3 stories of God at work in relationships to lead others to encounter Jesus. God is making his appeal to others though us!

  • Nuts
  • Crackers
  • Chips/pretzels
  • Lollies
  • Mince pies

Our collections will recommence in February 2024.

News From Family Hub

Over the past 12 months the money raised by Good Shepherd has funded many activities at the Family Hub Ingle Farm.

  • Food for parenting programs – there is an increase in parents coming hungry to our programs, impacting their ability to learn. These parenting program can be the difference between families staying together or being separated.
  • Funding a “cooking from the heart” program – where community members come to Family Zone to learn simple meals they can take back and cook for their family. It also provides a place for them to make friends. Some of the food made goes home to families in need.
  • Funding outings for the children/families we support at Family Zone – allowing children to experience things like play cafes during school holidays so when they go back to school, they can share experiences.
  • Equipment to run our programs with children for outdoors for crèche children to play or when we have supervised access visits on site – this also extends to our Neurodiversity Support Group.
  • We have used the money to buy pot’s that children have painted to then plant Joan’s handy work – while it makes Family Zone looks lovely – it also leaves a legacy/memory or a footprint for families when they come back to see us.

Honey Biscuits

For those who are baking honey biscuits for Lutheran Care, please can they be brought to the Church by 27th November.

School Snippets

We were blessed with amazing weather for our annual Connected Schools Athletics day. Teams from Good Shepherd, St Paul, Blair Athol and Golden Grove represented their schools well. The scores were close…, but yes, we were victorious on the day. Staffing Teams for next year were announced this week. We are looking forward to welcoming Rowan Lieschke, Mirsini Arabatzis and Sheridyn Lovell into our community as well as getting to know Michelle Roberts-Cobbing in more depth. (Michelle has been teaching one of our Foundation classes this term.) We are blessed to have a group of highly skilled, committed and optimistic teachers at Good Shepherd. We have a lot to be thankful for!  For more of what we’ve been up to, please click on this link for the school newsletter: https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest Of course, a printed copy is available in the café area, and I am happy to arrange your own copy if you would like!

Wednesday Worship

This week our Wednesday Worship Drama group presented a Christmas message about the Wise Men’s journey to Bethlehem. Please have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of what was shared. There is also a display forming in the café area of our current Christmas theme. We would love for you to join us next week as Pastor Rolly shares the story of when Jesus was presented at the temple.  Same time: 8:50am. There is always the opportunity to get to know others over a beverage afterwards!

God bless your week!

We give thanks for all those who have contributed to our online devotions this year. Now we are looking for more! If you have one or more of your own that you would like to share, please send them through to the church office: churchenquiries@paravista.org.au
