How To Respond to A Changing World

In a world where everything is changing very rapidly, how do we react as Children of God?
How does our congregation adapt, change so that we can still reach people with God’s Grace?
We are told to be in the world but not of the world. What does that mean?
Have you ever stopped to really consider how this is reflected in your life?
Pastor Matt Thiele will unwrap this for us this Sunday.
Read: John 17: 11-18 in preparation for this message.

Bible Readings: John 17:11-18 (NLT)

AGM Round Up
The Annual General Meeting for Good Shepherd Para Vista was held on Sunday the 28th of May.
The following were discussed during the meeting:
- Both Robyn Oatey and Christa Schwarz presented reports on the National Synod and District Synods (respectfully) and what was discussed at each.
- The Review for Corporate worship was submitted to the congregations and accepted that we will continue with two Sunday morning services.
- It was noted that due to the recent decline of call from Richard Fox that Greg Fowler has now been called, as per the motion passed from the last call meeting.
- A special thanks was given to David Wilksch and his contribution to the GSPV community over the last decade. We wish David well and pray every blessing in his new district role.
- An update was provided on the progress that the community has made towards our goals outlined in our church safe plan after the review and action plan was recently implemented. Thank you to everyone that has participated in training thus far and embraced the inclusive culture that we are striving to create.
Gods Blessings,

Growing Faith at Home
Now something for grandparents! Many grandparents pray for their grandchildren. They long for them to share their faith and experience the security and comfort that comes with doing life with Jesus. Did you know that you can play an important role nurturing your grandchild’s faith through your relationship with them? This GFH ‘Equipping Sheet’ offers ideas to try out with those you love (whether you live next door or in the next state). Cooking, sharing stories, talking or texting on the phone as well as praying for them are just some of the examples. Have a look at the resource, or you may like to pick up a printed copy in the Café area. I’d love to hear how you go with this!
School Snippets
It has been a big week for us. On Wednesday we farewelled a visionary, faith filled man from our school community. Mr David Wilksch has held the role of Principal since April 2012. During this time, the school has grown in size- both number of students attending and shape, with a number of major building projects completed in this time. While David worked in partnership with the board and other leadership staff, his passion for student learning and community are part of his legacy. We give thanks for his dedication and service, for the many ways that he has invested in the lives of children and their families at Good Shepherd. You may like to read this week’s devotion for a reflection of what was shared in the Chapel message. Our new school leadership staff (Brett, Evie, Therese and Claudia) were installed into their new positions. Have a look at this week’s newsletter, which includes at ‘Farewell Video’ using this link https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest Unfortunately, we are experiencing some technical difficulties at the moment, so we are unable to provide a printed copy for this week’s school newsletter. (This issue is being looked at and will be addressed as soon as possible.)
Chapel Invitation
As always, you are most welcome to join us for Chapel next Wednesday at 8:50am where we will be continuing our theme of intriguing stories from the bible. Why not stay around afterwards for a coffee and chat and get to know more people in our Good Shepherd Community.
JC Life Kids Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun? Here’s an idea for the school holidays! Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL. Only $20 admin fee! (If this is not your first camp, talk to Georgie as there is a smaller sponsorship available.) The camp will be at Camp Kedron, Barmera. There will be a bus heading out from Adelaide. For more information either chat with or contact Georgie here, or check out the camp section on the blueprint ministries website at: www.blueprintministries.org.au/camps/jc-life
Alternately, you might like to head straight to JC Life for registration.
