Inviting Jesus In

“Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to sit with me on my throne, just as I was victorious and sat down with my Father on his throne. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches.” ~Rev 3:20-22
As a child, I saw a painting where Jesus was standing close beside a door, with his hand raised to knock. There was no handle from the outside, which means it has to be opened by us from inside. Can you hear Jesus knocking on your door? He is patient and persistent; he does not give up on us. He is waits for us to open the door, to welcome Him in, to invite him in to our lives and hearts. He is waiting to sit with you, to listen, encourage you as you go about your day.
There is nothing in our lives he does not know, so we don’t need to be afraid or ashamed. He has also given us His Spirit to help us to trust him, discern His voice and respond to Him. He gives us peace, forgiveness, blessings. Jesus is longing for us to be on this life adventure with Him, now and forever. Have you invited Jesus into your life today?
