Listening To God’s Voice

Listening To God’s Voice

You are a Christian; a follower of The Way – Jesus. Great. Now what? Jesus isn’t here “in the flesh” to talk to you. God is invisible. From a purely pragmatic perspective, interaction with God isn’t like interaction with other human beings. So how do we have a relationship with Him? How do you hear God’s voice in your life? As Christians in a 21st Century world, it is SO fundamentally important that we are clear on exactly how God does (and doesn’t) speak to us. That’s what we are exploring this Sunday in my message.

Grace and Peace

Pastor Stephen Abraham

Bible Readings: 1 Kings 19:1-3, 1 John 4:1 (NLT)

Community Family Support News

Growing Faith at Home

It astounds me that Jesus, who is God and the King of kings, chose to live among us ordinary people and obey the laws of the land. (I’m wondering how many times he thought in his mind, ‘Do you know who you are talking with?’) He honoured his parents, he paid taxes. This week’s GFH resource brings up some talking points around ‘honouring earthly rulers and authorities.’ Have a look at the resource for some ideas to talk over with your family or small group.

School Snippets

We began our term together with Worship on Monday. Pastor Stephen Abraham and his wife gave some insight of where the term ‘Halloween’ comes from (hallow = saint and eve = the night before). His puppet character and Mrs. A talked about ‘All Saints Day’, a festival where Christians remembered people of faith and loved ones who had gone home to be with Jesus. Have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of what was shared. Our Wednesday Worship continues next week. Love for you to join us! We have also enjoyed other highlights this week. The Junior Primary classes enjoyed their swimming lessons and today (Friday) we dressed up in our loud shirts to raise money for Can: Do4Kids in support of children with hearing loss. This term seems to go very quickly. We look forward to sharing more as we go along. If you would like to find out more of what is happening at school, you are also welcome to click on the link to our newsletter: https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest A printed copy is available in the café area and I am happy to arrange your own copy if you would like!

God bless your week!

Georgie
