Lost

Sometimes things go wrong, and we wonder why God let’s things happen the way they do. We start to have doubts and worries. When life doesn’t go as planned or things don’t work out as we hoped they would, we feel lost.
I had a time in my life like this. Maybe you have too. For me it was when I was in primary school, my parents sold our house, and we moved town. It was really hard. I had to leave everything that was familiar to me. My school. My church. Then it was hard starting in a new town. I felt lost because when you move town everything is new and unfamiliar. I felt lonely because I didn’t have any new friends yet.
After Jesus death Thomas felt worried and hurt and a bit lost. Then when Jesus rose from the dead and appeared to the disciples Thomas wasn’t there. He missed it! Thomas said, ‘Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.’ (John 20:25).
I love the way Jesus cared for Thomas. He answered his questions and showed him the nail marks in his hands and side. Jesus comforted Thomas and the other disciples. ‘Peace be with you’ he said.
Jesus will bring you peace in your doubts. Jesus will bring you his love when you are angry or sad. Our God is a loving God who cares for us. We can trust him when things go wrong. He has a plan for us even if we don’t know what it is. I didn’t know what Gods plan was for me when I had to move house. Thomas didn’t know what Gods plan was when Jesus died. But that didn’t mean God didn’t stop loving us. And he will never stop loving you. So why not talk to him and tell him your doubts or worries today.
