Who We Are

Welcome to Good Shepherd Para Vista. We are a vibrant church in the north-eastern suburbs of Adelaide, Australia, passionately seeking to take the message of hope in Jesus Christ to our community, our nation, and the world.

At Good Shepherd we seek to be an accepting and loving faith community where people can explore questions of faith and grow in what it means to follow Jesus. It is a place to belong and build genuine friendships and be part of something much bigger than yourself as you serve others with your God given gifts.

We hope you find our website helpful in getting an overview for who we are. Good Shepherd is more than a website, so we encourage you to come along to one of our Sunday services to experience firsthand what God is doing among us.

In observing Christ’s command, we treat each other with respect and dignity in honouring people. We aim to fulfil our responsibility under the law of the land. The LCA and Good Shepherd have committed to a process that ensures the church is a safe place. For further information click here.

How to join this church family

While Jesus calls us to make disciples not church members, it is helpful for people to demonstrate their commitment to growing as followers of Jesus by becoming members of a local church. Membership gives you a place to call home, an extended church family to care for you and you for them, as well as voting rights in congregational meetings. Membership also demonstrates ownership of the church’s God-given purpose and a commitment to playing your part in fulfilling this.

We ask all people considering membership to complete our Discovery course to introduce you to our key beliefs and how we seek to fulfil the purpose God has given us as a church. Discovery is normally run once a year. For more information contact our office: churchenquiries@paravista.org.au
