Only What’s Done for Christ Will Last
Only what’s done for Christ will last.
In 2018, the Christian band Casting Crowns released their song, Only Jesus, which included these lines:
“Make it count, leave a mark, Build a name for yourself.
Dream your dreams, Chase your heart, Above all else.
But all the kingdoms built, All the trophies won,
Will crumble into dust when it’s said and done.
Jesus is the only name to remember.”
If we are to leave any kind of legacy behind, it will not be because we have followed the patterns of the world.
It will be because the Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, has graced us with faith and helped us in turn to reveal Jesus Christ, his life and love, to others.
Rev. Christopher McAleer

Price of $30.00 pickup from the front office will need to be paid for in advance to be received for the beginning of January 2024. The theme for 2024 is ‘In God’s Promises’ and is compiled of a selection of short meditations for each day of the year, from Australian writers, including pastors, pastors’ wives, lay-workers and other faith-filled servants of the church.
The writer’s thoughts are life-related, and then connect you back to the promises of Jesus. Included is the bible reading for the day, their featured verse, a faith-talk question, and a prayer. Perfect for individuals, families, or groups.
May you be blessed as you live each day in Gods promises.

Rachel and Georgie
Yesterday (Thursday) we welcomed 66 excited preschoolers (and their families) to school for the first of their transition days in Foundation. Children got to explore, build, play, listen to stories and munch on snacks in the Foundation classrooms, while their parents/ carers gathered in the hall to learn about Good Shepherd, our culture and things to look forward to. It is always wonderful to witness the children’s joy and enthusiasm. Some take a little while to warm up (nothing to do with the weather), but by the end, there were plenty of smiles and excited chatter! This week we also bid farewell to Mrs. King, who leaves us for hopefully a little rest before she and her husband welcome their first child in a few weeks. For more of what we’ve been up to, please click on this link for the school newsletter: https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest Of course, a printed copy is available in the café area, and I am happy to arrange your own copy if you would like!
We concluded our current Christmas theme on Wednesday with Pastor Rolly sharing a message about Simeon and Anna recognizing the promised Messiah as Jesus was brought to the temple. Please have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of what was shared. Next week we look forward to a special Blessing service for our Curiosity friends, as the Blue and Orange team ‘graduate’ from the ELC. We have a lot to give thanks for!
God bless your week!
We give thanks for all those who have contributed to our online devotions this year. Now we are looking for more! If you have one or more of your own that you would like to share, please send them through to the church office: email@example.com
