Relational Prayer

Relational Prayer

At its simplest, prayer is a conversation between two people who love each other. That means prayer is not about perfecting the correct methodology. Instead, it’s about growing in this love relationship where we can respond with all we are, to all that Father God is to us.  When it comes to praying, we’ve already been given everything we need: a heart, mind, mouth, and ears. Using these, prayer becomes a flow of love toward God that can bear fruit of all kinds as we submit to him and know him better.

Bible Reading: Luke 11:1-13

Grow Ministry Update

The Grow Team recently met to discuss Missional Faith Formation at Good Shepherd.  How can we pass on our faith and help people encounter Jesus in our current culture and time?  What might it look like for our congregation to expand and extend our presence beyond the church walls?  And how could our congregation provide support and encourage people along the pathway of faith formation?

On Sunday 31 July our Mind Map will be displayed for our community to ponder and add to.  We look forward to continuing to explore this with Holy Spirit’s leading.

“A community which intentionally develops intergenerational relationships to grow faith in Jesus so that He can build His Kingdom here and now.”

Growing Faith at Home

Dear Church Family,

Do you find prayer easy or difficult? That is one of the caring conversations in this week’s GFH resource you might like to explore with your friends, family, or small group. The devotions this week focus on prayer, starting with Jesus’ teaching on prayer (the Bible reading for this Sunday). Hear the pleas of Hannah and Hezekiah. Hear the confidence Elijah had in God as he prayed to Him. I keep thinking that as we pray, we are talking to the One who loves us most and knows us best. What would you like to chat with Him about this week?
