See, Your King Comes to You…To Be for You!

See your King comes to you…to be for you. But who cares? Who even wants a king these days. Our ideal leader has moved away from someone who commands and directs and rules. We want someone who collaborates and co-creates with us. Anyone and everyone can lead…can’t they? Maybe. The desire to have control over our own lives is nothing new (that started way back with Adam and Eve). So where does God fit into this? What kind of King is Jesus and is he a welcome presence in our lives?

Use of Facility Reminder
It is wonderful that our church is more than just a building! It is filled with people using their gifts and talents, serving God and each other as we seek to connect with those in our community and outside it too… not just on a Sunday, but every day!
Just a friendly reminder that after your group has used the facility, to please return things (furniture etc.) to the place where you found them. We have had a few situations where this hasn’t happened and, when the next group arrives, things aren’t where they are supposed to be. We would really appreciate your help with this! Thank you and God bless your ministry!
KAPS (Kid’s and Parents) Event
We enjoyed getting together for our first KAPS for the year last Sunday. There was drama (the good kind) where people used their acting skills to share part of the Easter story, later shared in Worship. We made palm leaf crosses and decorated flowers before enjoying a meal together (Yiros were on the menu!) Our next gathering will be on 30th April (last afternoon before school returns for Term Two.) Save the date! More information to follow.

School Snippets
This week we heard some ‘Breaking News’ in Chapel. A ‘team’ of students covered the beginning of the biggest story in history. They began by reporting on Jesus’ arrest and trial. Pastor Chris Mann followed up by sharing a message describing Jesus’ ultimate sacrifice. Have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of his message. He also shared a video about Malchus in the Garden (of Gethsemane) which links in with Good Shepherd’s Easter theme of Three Gardens! For more of what’s been happening at school, please have a look at our newsletter by following this link: https://bit.ly/3ZvboFX
Chapel Invitation
We would love for you to join us next Wednesday as our reporters continue to follow the ‘Story of all time’! Please note, our final Chapel for the term will be held on Friday 14th April as we hear the exciting conclusion of the story… or maybe it is just the beginning! Services begin at 8:50am. Please enter via the courtyard.
Growing Faith at Home
Dear Church Family,
Palm Sunday is just around the corner. A day of celebration as we remember how people greeted Jesus with joy and gladness as he entered Jerusalem. Palm Sunday marks the beginning of ‘Holy Week’ in the church. This week’s GFH resource offers ideas for you to talk about and perhaps do with your family and friends.
Also included are some palm leaf activities to make at home. There is an easier palm leaf to make or a slightly harder cross you can make out of an actual palm leaf. (See attachments provided.) Have a wonderful week everyone!
Devotions
We give thanks for all those who have contributed to our online devotions this year. Now we are looking for more! If you have one or more of your own that you would like to share, please send them through to the church office via churchenquiries@paravista.org.au
