Trinity Sunday – Living in the Unity of Love and Peace

In today’s world people have all sorts of ideas about who God is and what he’s like. Into this context our confession of God as the Triune God (as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit) clearly identifies which God we worship and believe in as Christians. In fact, the Church’s confession about the Triune God tells us not only who God is but also tells the story about what our God has done to save us. It tells the story about how in love, God the Father has sent his Son Jesus to be our saviour and that the same Father has also sent the Holy Spirit through the Son, so that the Holy Spirit might unite us to Christ in faith and in turn the Son might reconcile and restore us to God the Father through the forgiveness that he won for us on the cross. Our confession of the Triune God is also a call for us to reflect in our relationships with each other the same unity of love and peace that characterizes the relationships within the Trinity. The same love and peace that Jesus has so abundantly and graciously poured over our lives, through the power of the Spirit, to the glory of God the Father.

Growing Faith at Home
This coming Sunday is known as ‘Trinity Sunday’. Christians believe in one God, who is Father, Son (Jesus) and the Holy Spirit. It can be a little tricky to get your head around. Along with the usual GFH resource, I’d like to share a couple others that illustrate the Trinity. The ‘Three in One Apple Activity’ mentions a book called ‘A picture of God 3 in 1’. It’s a good one. Let me know if you are interested and I can get it for you!
Have a wonderful week everyone!
School Snippets
There has been a lot happening this week! Students in Years 5 and 6 enjoyed their Stage 4 experiences. Students chose from a range of activities that peaked their interest. (See information shared in our Weekly News dated 5/05/2023 and 18/05/2023 for details.) Exciting times ahead! Next week also promises to be a another big one. On Wednesday 7th June we will farewell our Principal, David Wilksch, at our Chapel service. The service begins at 8:50am. There will be a light morning tea and coffee available after Worship, along with a chance to say ‘goodbye’. Hope to see you there.
