Unlocking The Potential In Others
John the Baptist was so popular that people asked if he was the Christ. His humble and powerful denial points away from himself and on to Jesus. Just think of the potential we can unlock in others when we deflect from ourselves and release them. You get to experience one of the greatest thrills in life: seeing others soar and prosper.

Call Committee Update
The call committee has met again this week to go through the names submitted by the congregation for consideration.
Thank you to those that have put names forward.
If you would like the full list of pastors available for call, please see the church office and they can provide you with one.
The next step is to study the pastoral profiles in consultation with the district office before shortlisting pastors for interviews.
Please continue to pray over the call committee during this time, that we may seek Gods will and follow the path he has set out for us.
Your servant in Christ,
Christmas comes once a year but it’s a special time filled with cheer. A time for friends and family to come together joyfully.
May our hearts prepare Him room, our lives reflect His presence, our homes radiate His peace.
The pleasure of your company is requested as we celebrate the welcoming of our Almighty King!
This year it’s happening on Saturday 23rd December commencing at 8.30am. This year many hands will blow the leaves away, cobweb the building and give the facility a good spruce up. Please bring along your personal safety equipment (earmuffs and dust mask), best leaf blower and join the group to create an inviting appearance to our church facility for Christmas. Don’t have a blower? Here will be a few spares you can test with free training. Don’t want to use a machine? Compete for the biggest spiderweb ball as cobwebbing will also be completed and you can create a web ball worthy of a Guinness record. If you have long cobweb brush, bring it as well.
Bring your children or grandies and supervise them while they learn.
Many of you may remember Vicar Jacob Fabich who served here until April 2022.
We celebrate and congratulate Jacob on his exciting news, including his ordination on 3rd December, his wedding to Tegan this weekend, and his upcoming installation into the Eudunda/Freeling Parish early next year.
May God continue to guide and bless him in his marriage and his ministry.
A big thank you to Peter Weckert and his team from Monday Night’s Meet n’ Eat for their efforts at our recent Christmas Lunch.
Also sincere thanks to my fellow Executive members and the retiring ones for all their invaluable support this year. Thank you to all who assisted with the trading tables and afternoon tea each month.
Enjoy your Christmas as we celebrate the arrival of the Christ Child.
Support For the Family Hub
Through 2023 there were a series of fundraising events to support the work of the Family hub. These included the 2 plant sales ($1,390), Karaoke Night ($2,300), Drakes shopping tags ($680), BBQ ($274) and donations ($1,000). The total was $5,643 for the year. Thank you to all those that supported these events during the year.
This money was used to upgrade the outside play area, run parenting courses, provide social activities for the families and children, and teach living skills such as cooking healthy meals. Without our financial help most of these activities would not have happened.
Message From the Family Hub
Thank you for all you have done and continue to do to make the Family Zone a welcoming place. Never underestimate the dignity you give back to children and families who we support through your generosity. Without your support some of our programmes would struggle greatly. Wishing you all a safe, wonderful and blessed Christmas. We look forward to your continued support in 2024.
Family Zone Team
We will be having only one service at 9.30am throughout the month of January.

A wonderful opportunity for families to be involved… so bring your children and your grandchildren and let’s celebrate Christmas together!
Growing Faith at Home
Have you finished decorating your Christmas tree at home? Here is a paper chain with a difference. (The strips have ideas written on them that encourage faith and strengthen relationships over the season of Advent. I have also placed printed copies of the Christmas Family Faith Trail in the church café area. This booklet is packed with Christmas themes and activities designed for pre-school and primary students as well as all age activities. There are prayer and online video suggestions, reflections, even a Christmas biscuit recipe… Plenty of ideas to explore during the school holidays!
It has been a short, but eventful week at Good Shepherd! On Tuesday we worshipped together and farewelled some of our amazing staff at our Closing Worship Service. Mrs. Evie Steven’s shared a timely message. (Have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of what she shared.) On Tuesday evening we celebrated with our Year 6 Graduating Students and were reminded that no matter what changes may take place in life, our God loves us and is with us. On Thursday afternoon the ELC had their closing blessing service. A colorful array of blossoming children (and amazing staff members) reflecting on the year and sharing God’s love. I’d love you to click on this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EkrEugomaw to view Good Shepherd’s reflection video, based on Psalm 139.
I would also encourage you to read our final newsletter for the year, with reflections from our Co-Principals, Mr. Brett Humphrys and Mrs. Evie Stevens. Just click here https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest or ask me for a hard copy if that is what you would prefer.
