Welcoming Strangers

Welcoming Strangers

Jesus had a lot to deal with in his earthly ministry, but on one occasion he overflowed with joy when his disciples obeyed him. Is it possible that our response today could bring him the same joy?

Call for a Backup Synod Delegate

We are seeking a backup General Synod Delegate.  The Convention of General Synod 2024 is to be held at Concordia College, Adelaide SA on 4th – 7th October 2024.  We already have a delegate; however, we would like to have a backup should this person be unable to attend.  At this Synod, it is expected the voting on the two practices of ordination will be taken, so it will be an important convention in this respect.

Please pray about if you would like to volunteer. Should you wish to put your name forward (or another person, with their permission) please notify the church office by Tuesday 31st October 2023.

Call for Members for the Board!

The Board is calling for new members. We have the position of Secretary we are seeking to fill.

Should you wish to put your name forward (or another person, with their permission) please notify the church office by Tuesday 31st October 2023.

School Worship

Just are reminder that school begins on Monday morning (16th October at 8:50am) with Worship. You are most welcome to join us as we come together once again as a Good Shepherd family! (Our regular Wednesday Worship gatherings will resume the following week.)

Equipping Resources

Grow Ministries provide a range of resources that encourage faith at home. Sometimes people feel a little reluctant to engage in conversations that involve faith, preferring to leave that kind of thing to the ‘experts.’ How have you been going with the resources I shared last week? The ‘Encouraging faith at home’, ‘Sharing your faith with your children’ and ‘Reading the Bible’ resources are still available for you use.

Here are some more!

Grandparents, did you know how important you are to the faith development of your grandchildren? Have a look at the resource for some ideas to use with your loved ones, whether they are down the street or across the country! Another resource is entitled ‘Encouraging families to pray’. Prayer is a conversation with the One who loves us most and knows us best. Have a look at the resource for some starting suggestions. There is also an ‘Encouraging acts of service’ resource for you. I know that many people from our community are putting together some gift boxes as part of the Operation Christmas Child program. That is just one way we can serve others. There are opportunities all around us. From in our homes, our church, the people down our streets… everywhere!   Enjoy the many opportunities we have to nurture faith at home, and/or in your small group, and/ or with the people you love!
