What is the Church?

What is the Church?

What does it mean to belong to the Kingdom of God?

How do we live in our local community as the Kingdom of God – the Church?

What is the Church – Jesus’ Church?

We live in a “individualistic” society, so how do we become a community acting together in unity?

We live in the world and have been given the role to share Jesus’ Kingdom on Earth.

Pastor Klein explores how we as a community share the Wisdom of God with each other and with those around us.

We are to be a community for each other’s sake.

Please read Acts 15:22-35 in preparation for Sunday.

Family Support Coordinator News, from Georgie

Growing Faith at Home

From time to time you hear people say, ‘This is my truth’. Do you ever wonder what they are meaning by saying that? This week’s GFH title is What is truth? An age-old question, even asked by Pontius Pilate when he was questioning Jesus before his death. One of the names of the Holy Spirit is the ‘Spirit of Truth’. The Holy Spirit is here to guide us, to shine a light on truth, as we make our way through life… Have a look at this week’s resource for some ideas to explore as a with those close to you. You can find it online, at https://paravista.org.au/ministries/children-family-ministry/

KAPS Kids and Parents Youth Event

Save the date:

Last month we held our first KAPS, Kids and Parents, youth event. The afternoon was filled with board games, big games, worship and to finish a pizza dinner with ice-cream for dessert. It also included a kids vs parents big game where the kids reigned supreme, causing the parents to perhaps cheat a little… Overall, it was a fantastic evening and we are all keen for the next one on June the 26th. If you have a child/grandchild in Years 4-7 we would love you to come along to join the fun!

School Snippets

It was wonderful to come together for Worship in the church on Wednesday as a Good Shepherd community, students, staff, parents and church. Eve Ormsby (Youth Worker from Endeavour College) shared the message of the Good Samaritan as she talked about the Fruit of Goodness. Some very keen helpers were on hand to help her on the day! Our Auslan teacher, Mrs Buhren, led one of our songs using sign language. There are indeed many different ways to sing praises to God! You are most welcome to join us next week as we continue to explore the theme of ‘Fruit of the Spirit’. Face masks will be required for parents and visitors. To enter, please come in via the courtyard (not the Montague Road main entrance). Seating for non-school staff adults will be in the church hall (as the church auditorium will be full of children!)

To act justly and to love mercy
