What to do when (your) Moses dies!
Ok, so maybe you don’t personally know a “Moses” who has recently passed away, but maybe you’ve lost an important leader, or you are the “newly elected leader” of your “tribe”, or you are on the precipice of some massive life changes and are unsure of what lies ahead for yourself or your family, and the fears/worries/doubts are creeping in!😬 Let’s lean into Joshua 1.1-10 and hear what God might be saying to us as we face the challenges that lie ahead for us in 2024.

Community Family Support News
A chance to connect with families in our Good Shepherd School Community
Would you like to volunteer at our school’s Welcome Party coming up on Friday 23rd February? The school is looking for volunteers to help out on the afternoon/ evening. The party begins at 5:30 and concludes at 9pm. More information to follow. Please see Georgie or email here if you would like to serve in this way.
Schools are always better full of children and families and we were excited to open our doors and welcome everyone from Years 1 to 6 back on Wednesday morning. There were smiles galore, a few butterflies in tummies and plenty of chatter as we came together as a family once again. We began the day with Worship, remembering that we are not walking into 2024 alone, but with our God who is always with us! Have a look at this week’s devotion for a reflection of what was shared. There is also the display in the café area to check out! With our Good Shepherd as our guide, we can approach this year with optimism and confidence! As children followed their teachers into their classes, many families stayed back and enjoyed either tea or coffee (thank you to the school volunteer who served behind the counter). Warm conversation flowed. It is lovely to be together once again. I encourage you to have a look at our school newsletter via this link: https://inewsletter.co/J1WDLx/latest Of course, a printed copy is available in the café area and I am happy to arrange your own if you would like! Inside we hear from our new Principal, Mrs. Evie Stevens! We are all looking forward to our Sunday 10:30am service where Evie and our new staff will be installed and our community, as well as other people engaged with education, will be blessed.
What are you up to at 10 to 9 (8:50am) on a Wednesday morning? We would love for you to join us for Wednesday Worship. You are welcome to stay behind afterward for some coffee and conversation. I’m always looking for people to serve beverages from behind the counter and connect as a Good Shepherd Community. Looking forward to seeing you soon!
Dear Church Family,
Given that it is the beginning of the school year for so many people, I would like to share some Growing Faith Moments with you. Using the 4 keys that have been shared with our Good Shepherd Church (Caring Conversations, Devotions, Service and Rituals/ Traditions) Grow Ministries offer ideas for you to use with your family (children or grandchildren) as they either begin school, return to school, begin secondary school or begin year 12. These ideas help to nurture faith and strengthen your relationships within your family. Talking with children about their concerns and aspirations and blessing your children with prayer all play their part. Copies will be available on the pin up board and the stands in the café. Electronic copies are available with this newsletter and will be accessible on our website for a month. Why not have a look?
