What’s Your Faith Focus?

Have you ever caught yourself measuring your level of faith, how strongly you believe in God. Perhaps you compared yourself to someone else whom you held in high regard as an example of strong Christian faith. Maybe at this stage you thought and prayed ‘Lord increase my faith’. Jesus’ disciples asked the same thing of him in the reading in Luke’s gospel. But did they have it right, were they asking the right thing, did they have the right faith focus?

Friends of Gideons Notice

Good Shepherd Church is a Friend of Gideons and has paid for New Testaments to be available for you to take, then pray for God to prepare someone to accept it, read it and come to faith.  Pray you will have courage and wisdom to be used by God in this way.

Lutheran Care

Another great response to our monthly food collection to support the work of Lutheran Care in caring for families in the northern suburbs of Adelaide. As reported in local media charities are really struggling to keep up with the demand. Our 40 + bags of donations will help ease the situation. Thanks again for your wonderful support!

Good Shepherd Country Drive

Come along for a family outing, anyone with a classic car bring it along.

Have lunch and join in and play some games, but most of all have some great fellowship.

School Snippets

We have wonderful things to look forward to this term. There’s the Good Shepherd School Trivia Night, a Father’s Day Stall and our Junior Primary Showcase ‘Seussical Kids’ for a start! Planning and preparation for each event is well underway! The new director for the Showcase is none other than Ms Bethany McAleer! (You may already be familiar with her talents through church.) I’ve already heard happy children share their excitement and enthusiasm for the part they will play in the production. As mentioned last week in church, as we pray for a Pastor for our community, please pray for God to reveal the right Principal to join us at Good Shepherd next year! Wednesday Worship

We had a great night on Saturday. After worship we enjoyed pizzas, then watched a movie together in the church. Some even stayed the night for a sleepover! Now we look forward to our next gathering later this month. Please save the date: Sunday, 27th August!

Growing Faith at Home

Today’s GFH title is ‘Blessing Others’. I shared some GFH resources at the beginning of the year that detailed information about blessing people you care for through words. This resource gives some ideas about how we, through our words and actions, can be a blessing to others. Here are some conversation starters for your family, friends or small group: What is compassion? Share about a time when someone showed compassion to you, or when you showed compassion to someone else… Share your stories with others… Kindness can leave an indelible mark in your heart! Encourage one another! Have a look at this week’s GFH for some ideas to try out!
