What’s Your Treasure

What’s your motivation? What makes you tick? What kind of foundation do you stand on when times are good and when times are tough? What do you treasure most?
If you ask Mr Wilksch these questions, he would point you to his source of hope, confidence, comfort, strength and inspiration; God’s love shown through Jesus. (See John 3:16,17) As Jesus walked with others, he invested in them, serving, loving, forgiving, encouraging and inspiring them to reach their potential.
This kind of treasure is too good to keep to yourself. There is something wonderful and amazing about it. It never runs out, no matter how many people you share it with!
One of Mr Wilksch’s long standing and favourite bible readings is written in 1Peter 3:15b,16a.
Always be ready to answer everyone who asks you to explain about the hope you have but answer in a gentle way and with respect. NCV
But let’s face it… sharing this good news, this treasure, can be a bit uncomfortable, even challenging at times. God never intended for this to be done without His help. In Chapel on Wednesday, we heard the extraordinary story of the time the Holy Spirit came at Pentecost, empowering and emboldening those present to share the good news of God’s love with others. The same Holy Spirit is with us today too, equipping us with everything we need for the opportunities that come across our paths.
What is the reason for your hope? What opportunities might present themselves today? Know that, whatever you face, the Holy Spirit is ready and waiting to help you share good news with others. This treasure is worth sharing!
God bless your week!
